Randwick Botany Cycling Club

Located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. Everyone is welcome to join our Friday Coffee Ride!

Month – January 2016

Don’t forget that RBCC Saturday afternoon racing begins again this Saturday 30th January and once again we will be looking at hosting a massively competitive D grade.  Many of these Elite D grade athletes have been training hard and have actually just returned from a High Altitude Training Camp.  Here are some of the D grade Elite athletes in action:

Be Afraid.  Be Very AFRAID !!

Now besides the above “athletes”, there’s a big chance John Kempler might be back after his hip operation and there are several others looking like they could be fit after concluding various medical procedures including tummy tucks and dementia therapy.

It’s going to be an epic battle so we welcome all D graders next Saturday.

However we do need assistance with track set up and marshalling so if you can help please contact me ASAP.  The new 2016 roster is now up (to the left) and thanks to Chris Georgas who has already nominated 4 days.

Jindabyne 2016

The Vantage Freight 2016 Jindabyne Training Camp

Vantage(200w)Some 47 RBCC members attended the Jindabyne Training Camp this year and despite the fact that I said last year was the best camp ever, I have to once again say, “This year was the best year ever !”  Fact is, it just gets better every year.DSC_0930

Here are some of the gang at the top of Charlotte Pass (Day 2)

We had perfect weather conditions, we had great food, we had great riding and we had great company and camaraderie.  Not only the riders enjoyed but so too did the non riders.  The Rydges staff were fantastic and our lunchtime outings to the Wild Brumby were truly memorable (well mostly in my case as I was drinking litre glasses of German Larger)

Thanks to Camp organiser, Ivan Jellic.  Thanks to Support vehicle drivers, Joanne and Pina.  Thanks to camp photographer Rebecca and thanks to out treasurer, Anna for not worrying too much about how much we spent.

Tour Down Under

For those RBCC members not doing the Vantage Freight Jindabyne Training Camp and travelling to Adelaide for The Tour Down Under, the Manly club has  put some training rides together that cover the highlights of Adelaide and see key parts of each stage and they have kindly extended and invitation to all RBCC members to join them.  See details here

Happy New Year 2016
