Our Sponsor, FRF Couriers entered two teams in the Jayco Bay Crits.  The Colnago Caravello team which contested the main event and the FRF/Randwick Botany team which contested the A grade support event.

The FRF Randwick Botany Team from left Chris "Spongee" Jenkins, Dave Tracey, Josh Marden, Ben Isaksen and Pat Naughton.

The Colnago Caravello team from left Jose Rodrigeuz, Jaaron Poad, Brett Lancaster, Graeme Brown and Pete "The Machine" McDonald

Stage one and we found a great vantage point, a pub right on the course. Frank Fortuna and I enjoy a "frostie" whilst watching the racing, whilst Tanya and Pat enjoy a nice meal.

Talk about comfort and close to the action.  Here's a shot of Pat and Frank enjoying the racing.  There's Robbie McEwen racing past over Frank's left shoulder.

I scream out, "Go Machine" and Pete flashes me a cheesy grin for the camera.  Pete rode like a machine over the whole five events and I think that he was the only one to finish all five rounds for the Colnago Caravello team.

Round 1 and Robbie McEwen kept a close eye on Colnago Caravello's Jaaron Poad.  Jaaron led out the sprint in the end and McEwen came flying past to take round one victory with Jaaron second.

Dave was looking strong in the first race. Dave had a bit of trouble with a fall in round 2 and then a gear cable broke in round 3.

Ben Isaksen was really motoring in round 1 but unfortunately 3 riders got away.  The rest of the team hadn't quite found their legs at this stage and couldn't do much to assist Ben.  Ben settled in and took the bunch sprint for 4th place

Round 2 and we get a taste of the lovely Geelong weather.  Here's Josh, Spongee and Dave negotiating a corner, the surface of which could best be described as "Black Ice"

Don't know how many riders went down, Dave unfortunately being one of them. Fortunately he was not hurt and was able to rejoin the race.

Round three was a hotdog circuit with light gravel which kept washing out on the top of the bitumen in one of the tight corners.  Needless to say it took it's toll with both Ben and Josh coming down.  Fortunately our resident Medico, RBCC's Tanya Newton was there to patch the boys up.

Both got back up quickly with Ben taking 4th place and moving up to 3rd overall. The whole team was pretty happy  at the completion of round 3.

The Start of Stage 4 and Ben knew he had a chance of overall victory.  He was the absolute picture of concentration and focus.  I was his room mate so I knew that he was getting plenty of sleep and was totally focused on doing well in the series.

Round 4 saw Ben shadowing the Yellow Jersey and staying near the front.  All the previous rounds had been won by breakaways and we needed a bunch gallop for big Ben to show his sprinting power.

Josh had a fabulous ride in round 4.  Here he keeps the pace high to try to stop any breaks happening. The yellow jersey chases him while Ben sits in comfortably further down the line.

Bell lap and Josh absolutely buried himself to pull Ben to the front of the peleton.  You know Josh is going 10/10ths when he has his head down. Two riders unfortunately got away but Ben was able to take third place and held on to his third overall placing.

Spongee was looking very stylish taking the tight fast downhill left hander in round 3.

Round 5 first lap and Pat Naughton flys the RBCC/FRF colours by leading 100 plus A grade riders into the first corner.

Ben in the thick of the action in Round 5.  Lots of breaks tried to get away but were gathered back in.

Spongee and Josh worked fantastically for Ben in round 5 giving their all.  Here Spongee leads Ben around the bottom corner.

About 2 to go and Spongee and Josh go to the front and bury themselves, swapping off turns to ensure the pace is too high for any breaks to get away and ensuring a bunch sprint for team mate Ben.  Fabulous job guys.

All goes to plan with Ben blasting home to take first place in round 5.  Above Ben rockets in to take the checked flag.

Left, excellent results for FRF/Randwick Botany team with Ben Isaksen taking first in round 5 and 2nd overall in the final classification.

In the Colnago Caravello team, Jaaron Poad was 9th and Peter McDonald 14th in the final classification.  Jaaron Poad got to wear the green jersey however finished second overall in the sprint series to Mathew Rex.
