CALGA 43Km INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL

NOTE:  This championship will be used largely by our handicappers to select teams for the State Team Time Trial Championship.

Event Details: Round 2 RBCC ITT championships and interclub challenge with BRATS on Sunday 5 June 2005

Start Time: 8am.  Competitors must register no less than 15 mins before start time.  It is suggested that you plan to get there at about 7am which will give you ample time to warm up and register and be ready to go on your appointed time. Riders will go off at 1 minute intervals

Race Distance: 43 kilometres

Organiser: Australian Time Trials Association

Helpers: Joanne Buckton, Helen Vella, Frank Fortuna, Rosanna Fortuna

Directions to Calga

- From Hornsby, travel on the F3 toward Gosford for approx. 25k.  Five kilometres AFTER the Mt White turnoff and trucking weighbridge on the left will be the Peats Ridge/Wisemans Ferry turnoff.  Take this turnoff – it is well signposted with a huge green sign.  Follow this road for approximately 1km where you will see Jones Rd which is the first turn off on the right and gives access to the carpark.   Allow at least 70mins from the East.

BRAT V’S RANDWICK BOTANY 43K INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL

Date: Sunday 5th June 2005 Jones Rd, Calga

8.00am start

(in assoc. with ATTA)

Event

- The BRAT and Randwick/Botany cycle club will be having an interclub challenge to see whether triathletes or cyclists are the fastest over a 43k individual time trial course.  The event will be run by the Australian Time Trial Association (ATTA).

Race Rules

- The rules are simple but the most important phrase is "alone and unassisted" or "non-drafting". There will be no assistance allowed from other riders or other traffic. Competitors will be ranked and sent off in 1 minute intervals starting from slowest rider to the fastest rider leaving last.

Entry/Registration

- entry will be $12 per person in order to cover ATTA running the event.  .

- when you make your payment to ATTA you should state whether you are racing for the BRAT Club or Randwick/Botany.  You will also be given a race number

Start

- The race will start with the first rider leaving at precisely 8am sharp and then each rider will leave at predetermined intervals.

Scoring to determine winning club

- times will be ranked fastest to slowest.  For e.g if there are 70 riders 1st = 70pts, 2nd = 69pts etc. The points are allocated to each club, however in equal nos. i.e. say 30 RBCC riders v 40 Brats. Then top 30 Brats points count only.
