WHAT CAN I DO ?

  • Firstly Sign the Petition. We urge you to sign and either fax off to 02 9340 7007 or return the completed petition to your Club Secretary, in order that these partitions can be collated and delivered to the Centennial & Moore Park Trust, and to the Premier of NSW. (Current petition count)

  • Finally, report incidents.  (Incident Register - Click here). There are plenty of people making complaints about cyclists but we allowing unleashed dogs, speeding motorists, etc,etc to place us at considerable risk of serious injury and in some instances we are getting injured badly.  Yet cyclists very rarely, if ever, take the time to attend the Ranger's office or write a letter which is subject of that incident.  As advised by the Centennial Parklands Administration in their Code of Conduct, in Item 4.6:

"Avoid confrontation and report incidents to a Trust representative."

The complaints being levied against a cyclists are largely farcical, such as these recently supplied to Cycle Centennial by Centennial Parklands administration:

“I was running with the flow of traffic, leading two dogs on short leads, on the far right hand side of Grand Drive”, and another complaining of abuse from cyclists when the complainant was actually walking on Grand Drive with a dog off its leash. As ridiculous as these sound, they are, believe it or not, complaints AGAINST CYCLISTS.

If you see a vehicle driving dangerously and/or intimidating the bunch take a description, rego details etc and then make report of the incident.  Likewise if you see persons walking in the cycle lane, unleashed dogs or whatever other dangerous/unlawful acts you see, take note of them and assist Centennial Parklands to assist us by reporting the incident/(s) as per the direction 4.6 in their draft Code of Conduct.
