New Member Night Juniors 2004 4 Sept 2004 11 Sept 2004 18 Sept 2004 9 Oct 2004 16 Oct 2004 23 Oct 2004 27 Nov 2004 2004 Christmas Party

This week Tanya Bosche ran a very professional and instructional workshop and the juniors got a lot out of it. These workshops are open to all juniors.  So come along and join in, as they are 'Come Along and Try' Days sanctioned by Cycling Australia.

The next Tanya Bosche Skills Workshop  will be on Saturday 13 November, 2004.  This will be the last for year so try not to miss it.

Left Tanya gives the Juniors some instructions prior to the activities

First activity for the day was picking up a traffic cone from the ground whilst still moving.  Left Ben Grant, of Southern Cross club makes it look fairly easy. Right, Ben's sister Bonnie also does it fairly easily as coach Tanya looks on.

Left Ben Elliot does it like a pro.  It was a little harder for the taller juniors as they had to bend down a little further.  Right Emma Jones completes the task pretty easily.

Left Matthew Weetman initially had all kinds of troubles with this skill but eventually he worked it out.  Right Seamus Dowd had no problems at all and took them on with a full head of steam.

Left Hugh Stewart masters the art of picking the witches hat off the ground whilst riding your bike with one hand.  Right Taylor Weetman made it look easy and was frustrating the hell out of her older brother, Matthew who just could not get it at first.

Tim Duncan left does it easily.  In fact Tim and some of the others got so good at it that they were putting the hats back on the way back. Another expert Sam Harrison right.

Left, another expert Jordan Moore.  Right, the kids wonder what torture Tanya has in store for them now.

Well it didn't take them long to work that out.  Next activity was "The Limbo" on bikes.  Left Ben Elliot only just makes it through to the next round. Right Jordan Moore shows great skill in ducking right down below the rope.  Bonnie behind him tucked right down as well as missed the rope by (over a foot) about 300 mm.

Left Ben and Emma make it easily to try again. Right, Ryan Clarke used the "Over the Handlebars" method to scrunch down under the rope.

Left the rope is getting low now and Taylor and Seamus show great skills using the "Side Saddle" method to go through to the next round. Right, Hugh Stewart uses the "Bum on tyre" method.  We don't recommend this method to all riders

Left, bad luck Ben Elliot, You're out !!

Well a fantastic afternoon was had by all.  A lot of fun and some good skills were learned by all.  Thanks to all the riders who participated including Jacob Bicknell, Seamus Dowd, Tim Duncan, Ben Elliott, Emma Jones, Sam Harrison, Jordan Moore, Ryan Sharpe, Hugh Stewart, Matthew, Andrew & Taylor Weetman, Ben & Bonnie Grant.

 Don’t forget - -

Next Skill Workshop Saturday 13 November, last for year so try not to miss it. Bring along a friend.

See you next week, regards Janette
