New Member Night Juniors 2004 4 Sept 2004 11 Sept 2004 18 Sept 2004 9 Oct 2004 16 Oct 2004 23 Oct 2004 27 Nov 2004 2004 Christmas Party

Matt Lucas, pictured left gives the kids a few hints on how to be a good sprinter. Matt then takes on Tyron Bicknell but it looks as though he trained him too well, right.

Left, Sam Harrison and Aaron Bicknell sprint off together. Right, Adriano Maradini and Ben Elliot sprint off together. Emma Jones can be seen in the background.

With the help of Matt Lucas & Chris Reynolds we tried out a new idea which we would like to implement in the near future, which is splitting our juniors into two groups for the first half  hour and coming back together for some racing.

Matt Lucas took the senior group which consisted of Tryon & Aaron Bicknell, Ben Elliott, Sam Harrison & Adriano Maradini and put them through some serious sprint training.

I took the second group Emma Jones, Jack Vignes, Andrew, Matthew & Taylor Weetman, Joshua Robinson (BSC) & Jacob Bicknell  and we went down to the netball courts and work on some bike skills.  I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help of Jack & Jacob’s mums, so thanks very much, they even jumped on a bike and went on a team that was short in numbers!

When we all joined up again, we had a sprint relay race down the front straight, two teams, 6 at each end, it was a close race and all sprinted hard.  Left, the start of the relay and John radios down to the other end to advise them that they are about to start.  First two riders off (left) were Taylor Weetman and Jack Vignes followed by the next pair of Andy Weetman and Jacob Bicknell.

Left, Aaron Bicknell and Ben Elliot started from the bottom of the straight and raced each other in the handicap event.  After all that sprint training was over, Matty Lucas had worked up a powerful appetite and REALLY seems to be enjoying his toasted sandwich.

As always a big thank you to the parents for helping out and bringing along the juniors.

NEXT WEEK 18 September will have H’cap Racing.  If we have a reasonable number of riders & help from some of senior members will try to split group again.
