New Member Night Juniors 2004 4 Sept 2004 11 Sept 2004 18 Sept 2004 9 Oct 2004 16 Oct 2004 23 Oct 2004 27 Nov 2004 2004 Christmas Party

We had a good turn up on Saturday so split up the groups again.  The older ones stayed with  Bob Bykerk and did a five lap time trial whilst we went around to the netball courts and tried out some new activities.  Particularly wanted to thank the Dad’s this time, Seamus’ Dad Chris & D’arcy’s Dad Stephen, would not have been as much fun and instructional without their help.

When we came back around to front of  track all the riders did a one lap time trial which Bob Bykerk ran (very well I might add).  Hopefully when Bob has sufficient times for his database we will be able to run competitive & fair handicap races which will be great for the juniors.

Need to point out to those who participate in the skill activities around at the netball courts they can easily do at home.  Good bike skills are very important especially when you start racing, the more confident you are the better bike rider you will become.

We had a new rider come along and try out, Hugh Stewart (13 yr old), hope he enjoyed his time with us and will come  along again soon.  Also would like wish Jacob Bicknell a speedy recovery, he had to undergo an emergency operation to have his appendix out, so hope he is feeling better.

I would like to thank the parents for bringing along the riders and taking an active role in the programme.  It is important aspect of our junior programme parent involvement as it builds social interaction and adds to the fun.   It also gives us a better opportunity to try new things etc.

Firstly don’t forget - -

We are off to Centennial Park this Sunday 26th Sept so no racing at Heffron on Saturday.   We will meet same place as before, start time 8.30am.  Hope everyone can make it, no BBQ breakfast they will be on car free days (next one 28th November).  I would like to encourage parents to bring along their bikes and make it family morning.

After all the riders have finished their lap times would like to hold our Parent Group Meeting for this month.  So would appreciate it if those who can spare half an hour afterwards would be extremely grateful, need to discuss plans for November and end of year social function for juniors and families and as these decisions/plans affect our juniors would like as much input from families as possible.  If you like, we can organise coffee/tea pastries/bagels for those who can stay just let me know by reply email or give me a call on mobile 0438 511 244.

Important – No junior racing/activities at Heffron Long Weekend  (Saturday 2nd October). - Would appreciate a reply email acknowledging no racing on Long Weekend, so know everyone has read message and for those that do not reply will give a quick call to make sure everyone knows.
