The following are photos from the Inaugural Tanya Bosche skills activities program conducted at the  Randwick Botany Cycling Club on Saturday 14 Aug 2004.

This week Tanya Bosch ran a skills activities programme for RBCC Juniors and visitors.  It was a great success.  All enjoyed her challenging activities, although would be fair to say that Tom Patton's track stands & bike skills were quite awesome, so we might have to set something a bit more difficult for Tom.  We had two new riders come along Seamus & Alexandra.  Hope they enjoyed their experience with us.  Tanya will be running a skills workshop every month, next dates 4th September & 16th October.  Now that you have had a chance to see how Tanya runs her activities why not ask some of your friends to come along with their bikes, as you saw, they don't necessarily need a road bike.  Here are some photos of the action

Andrew Weetman demonstrates how to negotiate the sharp turns through the witches hats and looks pretty impressive.  Notice Andy on the drops looking forward to the next turn and not focusing on the front wheel of the current turn.  Looking good Andy !

Tom Patton shows how it is done keeping it nice and tight to the witches hats through the turns.  Would look a little nicer on the drops though Tommy.

Ben Elliot goes through the witches hats with Adriano Maradini hot on his tail.

New member, Alexandra Constantine shows that it is not necessary to have a road bike to have fun doing these skills.

This was an exciting duel with the boys restrained to a small area with the aim of riders to make their opponents cross outside the borders.  If you could track stand you had a distinct advantage except if your opponent could too.  Then it became a track standing duel.  Ryan Clarke had another tactic.  Ride around at 20kph and scare everyone out of the square.  Great track standing by Tommy Patton, Adriano Maradini and Matthew Fortuna.

This was a great exercise with two cyclists having to negoitiate the tight turns through the witches hats whilst side by side.  Left Taylor Weetman and new member Shamus Dowde show how it is done.

left Emma Jones and Andy Weetman get pretty close as all the riders had to cross each other through the two witches hats.  There was no margin for error.

Emma and Shamus duel it out trying to get each other to run wide and out of the field of play.  In the end this particular match was a draw.  Congratulations Emma and Shamus.

Taylor Weetman, like Ryan Clarke, had a unique approach to this particular activity.  Taylor used a few intimidatory tricks. Here she goes "head to head" with her brother Matthew.  Matthew has put a foot down and is "out".
