JUNIOR CHRISTMAS PARTY

A great turn out of the Juniors and their parents.  Every Junior received a prize.  Our Major prize winners were Ben Elliot who was presented with the Malabar RSL Encouragement Award and Luke Davision and Tom Patton who each took out Major Achievement awards for a great year not the least of which was a silver medal in the National Pairs Road Team Time Trial.  Congratulations also to the new RBCC Club Person of the Year, Janette Murdoch, who was rather surprised and a little misty, but most deserving of the award.

I present our Junior support Officer, Janette Murdoch, the Club Person of the Year Award.  Janette was selected unanimously as the winner of this award by our committee and I am sure that everyone in the club would agree especially the Juniors and their parents.  Janette was a little surprised and a little misty as I hijacked the Junior presentations for a moment to make hers the first.

Left Ben Elliot receives the Malabar RSL Encouragement Shield.  Ben has had a great year and is getting very excited about his cycling.  Ben is branching out and experiencing all facets of cycling.  I was pleasantly surprised to see him competing at the Junior Track Carnival prior to the Clarence Street Cup at Dunc Gray Velodrome last weekend.  Keep up the great work Ben.

Left Tom Patton and Luke Davison receive their Major Achievement awards.  This pair teamed up together for the National Road Team Time trial pairs and brought back the silver medal.  We won't see much of them from here on in in the Junior camp as they have both moved into the Men's U17 ranks and they have already started racing (and cleaning up) the Senior club races.

Sorry gang, that's all the photos I got.  The camera's battery went flat after the above 3 shots.  Suffice to say however that their was a huge turnup of our juniors and their parents and we had a fabulous afternoon under the new Randwick Botany tent.  The food was excellent and every junior was awarded a prise.
