REPORT  (photos under report)

Hi Everyone,

We had a couple of new riders come down on Saturday,

Welcome:  Marcello Palazzetti, Michael Gatis, John Ryan-Thomas & Jack Bennett

As always with new riders we try to get them to do a time trial that allows us to work out a fair handicap time for racing.  With the parents help we managed to get some times recorded for the riders, which hopefully will enable us to have a proper U13s race next time round.  Marcello & Michael recorded close times, both coming in around 4min 30secs for a lap, which I am sure they will reduce next time round.

It was John’s first time on the track and on a mountain bike at that, so his time of 4mins 13secs can only get better.

Racing for next week U15s – Handicap over 8 laps;  U13s Handicap over 4 laps.  Start time 4pm.

A couple of things I need all riders to do before racing starts to help me out, have their $2 ready (race entry fee), sign on and pick up number before 4pm, so we can start on time, hopefully will have a table set up outside with numbers and sign on sheet.  Everyone must have a number and signed on otherwise cannot race.

Like to thank all the Parents for their help on Saturday was a little overwhelmed with the mixture of riders with their different levels and experience.  Hope I count on the parents again next week for times for their child, as impossible to record the times for each of the riders, and the more times we can record the better the handicapping so we can put on a fair and competitive race for everyone.

Many of you may or may not know but to put on the racing each week we rely on volunteers, so would like to thank Fred Vella for setting up the track and clearing the track after we have finished.  Thanks Fred!

All juniors must now be registered with NSW Cycling, not registered, cannot race.  See Helen Vella if not registered.

Marcello Palazzetti & Michael Gatis.  Two new boys to the Heffron track, showing good bike skills and focus, look forward to seeing them back again.

Ryan Sharpe out of his sit and putting in for a big sprint finish

Winners are grinners, and Jack certainly is happy with his win on Saturday, although new handicap times may change that grin!

Riders back in looking for a well deserved drink and rest, was hot racing

Aaron Bicknell not happy working with the boys to chase down Jack so made a break to see if he could reel him back in himself, was a determined ride, but not enough, Jack held them off for second week in row.

Matthew Weetman,  great style on the bike, with plenty of potential who knows A Grader of tomorrow

Taylor Weetman, our gutsy lady of the track, always in there trying, look forward to seeing her in few years time, will be one determined rider.
