JUNIOR RACING POLICY (extract from RBCC Policy & Procedures manual)

3.2 JUNIOR RACING

Junior racing will be managed by the Junior sub committee appointed each year by the Executive Committee.  Junior racing will be conducted from 12.30pm every Saturday (unless advised otherwise).  All junior members of RBCC, up to Under 17’s, are expected to support the junior racing program.  Junior members may be eligible to compete in Senior races as outlined in 3.2.1 below. Juniors deemed eligible to compete in Senior races by the Junior sub committee will be ineligible to compete in the Senior racing program unless they have first participated in the Junior racing program or unless they can supply a satisfactory reason to the member of the Junior sub committee who is conducting junior racing on that day, as to why they were unable to compete in the Junior racing program.

3.2.1  JUNIORS COMPETING IN SENIOR EVENTS

Juniors must participate in the junior events on Saturday’s before competing in Senior races.  Entry into Senior races is not allowed unless the Junior is issued with a Certificate of Competency by the Junior Sub Committee and they satisfy other conditions set out hereunder. No Junior under the age of 13 years (U15 racing category) will be allowed to compete in Senior races. Junior riders 13 years and older will be allowed to compete in the Senior races but only if:

  1. They have already competed in the Junior races preceding the Senior races (unless satisfactory reason supplied as outlined in 3.2 above)
  2. They have been assessed by the Junior Sub-Committee and have been awarded a Certificate of Competency to compete at senior level.
  3.
