Benefits of Being a Randwick Botany Cycling Club Member.

Putting the great criterium circuit, the great social atmosphere, social events and outings, the comradery, the great clubhouse with fully stocked kiosk, hot showers and change room all aside for the moment, there are several other good reasons why you should seriously consider joining the Randwick Botany Cycling Club:

bulletUnlike some other clubs which are seasonal, we race almost every Saturday of the year.
bulletRegular training rides.  Members get to socialise & train together almost every day of the week.   See training rides for details.
bulletWe have quite a few Triathlon members and can assist triathletes in developing their cycling skills.
bulletWe take our duty of care very seriously.  Racing is only conducted after deployment of sufficient number of safety signs and witches hats around the circuit.  We have an accredited Cycling NSW Commissaire on duty on every race day.  Marshals are deployed around the circuit and are in communication with each other and the Commissaire, via two way radio.
bulletWe have First Aid personnel present at every race meeting. Whilst it is an  infrequent occurrence at the Heffron Park circuit, we ensure that first aid is quickly available in the event of a mishap.
As a fully licensed Randwick Botany Cycling Club member you are licensed through your State cycling governing body (NSW Cycling Federation - see banner below) as a member of the Australian Cycling Federation (banner right)

There are many benefits associated with joining a cycle club that is affiliated with Cycling Australia.

Membership provides:

bulletA License which enables you to compete in Road, Track and Mountain cycle events throughout Australia
bulletInsurance cover when racing and training
bulletQuarterly issues of Cycling Australia's magazine - Newscycle
bulletAccess to fully qualified accredited cycling coaches
bulletRegular issues of State and Club newsletters and event calendars
bulletEligibility for selection in State and National teams for Road, Track and Mountain Bike championships

If you ride a bicycle regularly, you should join a cycle club.   Putting all the other obvious benefits of club membership aside for the moment, club membership ensures that you are covered by insurance in the event that you are injured whilst training or racing.
