The Trophies

Around the Room

Wish these blokes would wear wigs our camera flash was bouncing all around the room

Me (John Buckton), Chris White (MC) & Anthony Spurgeon (Guest Presentator)

Freddy gives Spurge a few Sprinting tips

Matty Lucas gives the boys a few sprinting tips

Jenny Spurgeon and Helen Vella enjoy the evening

Janelle & Leeanne

Josh Marden & better half

He loves her even with a broken wing

I have a big smile because this one is empty and someone is about to hand me a new beer.

Ritchie cracking his jokes again.  Allison tries to act amused.

Joe says, "I can only carry two of my trophies at a time."

More around the room shots

Even more

Finally the trophies and I present the President's award to our Paralympic Gold medalist, Janelle Lindsay.

Spurge tried to steal the limelight and a kiss.

Our MC details the heinous acts that warrant the winning of the RBCC "Mongrel" award.

I don't know why but Frank Fortuna looked surprised when he won the mongrel of the year award. It now has pride of place in the trophy cabinet of the FRF boardroom.

Matt shows how he achieves his excellent VO2 max

The Handicap road race.  We had a bunch of four but in the end we were down to two. Lucky I had someone's wheel to suck.

Joanne got a good haul of trophies.

Some honeymoon, we haven't seen em for a year!

Big Chris "Brutus" Reynolds and Neil Morris.

Frank didn't win anything except for the mongrel award so he quickly accepted his wife Rosanna's trophy.

Here's Pat Naughton and I discussing a particularly interesting story.

Oh no, Frank is sitting down with Neil Morris over a beer.  There is no way I am trying to fit another sponsor on that jersey Frank.

The 2 day tour and that's 2 years in a row now that I have won it.  I think like Lance I will go for 6. Here's me with runner up Greg Smart.

My god, look how thin I am. Rocky eat your heart out.  I am under 85kgs in this photo. I don't recommend my slimming technique to anyone though.  It involves being hit by a car having one side of your body crushed and parts put back together with titanium screws.

B grade overall winner with runner up Steve Forster

Neil Morris takes out the B grade hillclimb

Pat Naughton salutes the crowd

E grade stars.  Joe Gatt and Leeanne Emery

The D grade stars, Roger Jowett left takes out one.  So too does Ritchie Jenkins right.

Spongee Jenkins takes out one of the A grade trophies

The biggest trophy of the night takes all Spurge's might to lift it.  Where's the recipient, Steve Horn?  Just got a phone call he's opened up the throttle on the 767 and making great time back from Toyko.

Well there were plenty of smiles on the Forster/Hall/Thomas table all night.
