9th ANNUAL JUNIOR CARNIVAL AT HEFFRON PARK

A large spectator crowd gathered at Heffron Park, Maroubra,
today to watch the Randwick Botany Cycling Club Ninth Annual Junior
Carnival. The event was part of the New South Wales Cycling Federation 2000 Road
Racing Calendar.

Spurred on by the excitement of the recently completed Tour-de-France,
over 80 junior cyclists registered, ranging in age from under 9 to under
17 years old, from all over New South Wales.

After a sunny and mild start to the day, clouds rolled in at lunchtime.
Light rain did not stop the racing program being completed as scheduled.
