Three Randwick
Botany riders represented the club and achieved the following results.
| Chris Jenkins (U17), Luke Cridland (U15) and Jonathon Cridland (U13) represented the club at the Wagga
Wagga Cycling Club, Fearnes Coaches Junior 2 Day Tour on 5 & 6 May 2001. |
 |
Chris was placed 9th in the U17 A Grade road race and 15th overall, in his first major
open event and first ever open road race, against state and national riders.
Because the handicapper had never even heard of Chris, he was asked to compete
in the Under 17 Men B Grade events. |
| Not daunted by the
competition, Chris elected to compete in the A grade competition. Chris
has trained extremely hard over these past 12 months and all the hard miles paid
off and his his confidence was boosted with bunch finishes in the two road races
and the criterium. Congratulations to all three boys from your fellow club
members but special congratulations to Chris. We look forward to places in
the near future. |
