C grade averaged a fast 37km per hour during their 30km race.  The 16-rider bunch slowed during the last lap in readiness for an exciting sprint from the 300m mark.  During the sprint Shaun Ballesty, was forced onto the grass, but recovered to cross the finish line first only half a bike length ahead of Tony Horneman, in second place, and Stephen Bligh in third place.  The winning time was 48min 56sec.

15 riders competed in the 20km D Grade event.  First place went to Kevin Vlahos, in a time of 33min 50sec, followed by Randwick Botany regular Roy O'Toole, and Neil Morris in third place.
