REPORT
Forty-five keen cyclists registered for the weekly Randwick Botany Cycling Club bike race at Heffron Park on Saturday 5 May 2001.  Unfortunately, the skies opened up at start time accompanied by a thunder and lightening.  The race commissionaire cancelled the race due to the wet and slippery conditions.

Earlier in the day, junior club riders completed their events before the rain storms arrived.

The under 17 years 4km Time Trial was won by Robert Cater in a time of 6min 20sec.  This time is equivalent to 3min 10 sec per 2km lap close to Roberts'  best time of 3min 3sec for 1 lap.  Second was Liam Fletcher from the Manly Warringah club and third was Keegan Aitchison.

Luke Davison can first in the under 13 years 2km Time Trial in a time of 3min 54sec.  Max Gueniev and Adriano Maradini came second and third respectively.  Adriano's times continue to improve, crossing the line at 4min 40sec.

The under 13 years 10km Scratch Race was won by Luke Davison followed by Max Gueniev.

A 6km Scratch Race was also run for under 11 riders and was won by Adriano Maradini followed by Luciana Smith, in her first race with Randwick Botany Cycling Club.  Third was James Warne.

The next Randwick Botany Cycling Club race will be conducted at Heffron Park on Saturday 12 May 2001.  Juniors start at 1pm and Seniors 2.30pm.
