The 45th
Ken Dinnerville Memorial 90km Handicap was held at Dapto on Sun 26 May 2002.
Congratulations to Aaron for a fantastic
ride in the Ken Dinnerville. He and Northern Sydney rider Ross
Hodgson got away at about the 10km mark and managed to hold off the
charging scratchies for 80 kilometres. Ross, an extremely fit
Masters 4 rider was able to get away from Aaron, when his legs began to
cramp, with about 5km to go to
take the win. Congratulations to our other entrants, Joe Sorby,
Scott Callum, James Grant, Neil Morris, Ron Sproule, Chris Jenkins, Hans Vische
and Steve Bligh. Joseph and James had a baptism of fire in their first
ever open being put off with the 9 minute bunch. I only made it to
the second lap before the old back packed it in and I became a spectator
and part of the cheer squad with my wife Joanne, Ritchie and Maria
Jenkins and Mark Robertson. None of our ladies competed but we
forgive you as you are obviously saving yourselves for a big Tour de
Femme. --- John Buckton |
