Tour de Femm 2002

Congratulation to all our girls who competed in the Tour de Femme over the weekend of the 1st & 2nd June.  Congratulations to Joanne Hall, Leslie Fine, Melanie Rassam, Marika Kahle, Leanne Koh, Janelle Lindsay, Belinda Angwin, Britney Orr and Robyn Stanning.   Nine in all.  For several of the girls it was their first ever open.

Belinda Angwin finished 2nd GC in division 4 ( D grade), Jo Hall finished 3rd GC in division 3 ( C grade) and Britney Orr finished 7th GC division 2 ( B grade). Britney got a 3rd in the TT but JDO, Peter Zala tells me that she needs a little more bunch racing practise for the criterium. Belinda came second in the crit. Mel Rassam was also outstanding. She raced B grade and kept up with the leaders finishing 9th in the road race with Britney finishing 5th in the road race. Jo Hall came second in her road race and Belinda Angwin came 4th in her road race.

Robbyn Stanning came down with the flu after the TT but still managed to stay with the bunch in the crit till 27min out of 30 min and then the Team manager sent her home due to her illness.  Bad luck Robyn.

 Reports that the elite uniforms looked very impressive yesterday when Brit and Robbyn were on the front.  Stay tuned, more info as it comes to hand.
