REPORT
It almost looked like racing
would be abandoned again due to rain this week. In spite of the
spitting rain however, 13 junior riders turned up to compete which was
great to see. Thanks to our Junior Coordinator, Janette Murdoch,
who rallied the troops.
Senior numbers were a little
down and the Commissaire had to shorten the race distance by some 4
laps when raining became heavier. Because of the reduced
numbers, A & B grade were combined. That suited the 4 or so A
graders as they were all entered in the Ken Dinnerville the following
day and didn't say no to an easier than usual pace. New member
Steve Horn had an excellent first race, outsprinting some of our
resident stars to take 3rd place in the A/B combined criterium.
Congratulations Steve.
New member Dominic Kennedy
similarly had an excellent ride to take out first in C Grade. It
was largely a RBCC day with RBCC riders taking most of the places in
the various grades.
Sorry no pictures this week
we had a few dramas with Helen going home sick and then Joanne rushing
off in relation to a personal emergency (with club camera) on the back
seat of the car.
