The A Grade
race was indeed exciting. Our resident locomotive,
Peter Macdonald pulled everyone around for a while until
the going got a little too tough for most of A grade and a
group of three, Peter, Nick Wood and Jersey Sowa crept
away off the front. With about two to go, Nick Wood
attacked off the front and put about 100 metres on Peter
and Jerzy. This didn't seem to phase Peter too much
as he just ground away eventually dropping Jerzy and
clawing back about 50 metres of Nick's lead to claim
second place. I spoke to Nick after the race and he
told me that Peter had him worried as he knew he was
slowly pulling back his lead. Peter started the year in D
grade. He is still improving week by week. The mind
boggles. |

Above RBCC B
Grade Stalwarts, Neil Morris leads Dave Mackey. Good
to see Brendan Ingram back after a long break off the
bike. I watched Brendan follow young Chris Guillan
up the finishing straight with a big smile on his face.
I spoke to Brendan after the race and asked him what the
smile was all about. He told me that he was amused
by the fact that he couldn't come over young Chris even
though Chris was sprinting in his junior restricted gears.
Don't smile too much Brendan, Chris is a fabulous
sprinter, his sprint finely tuned on the track. A
warning for you also Chris. When Brendan is in form
he is fast with a capital "F". A couple more
weeks and you are going to have BIG problems. |

C Grade
stalwart and ex President of RBCC, Dale Rockell rolls and
lets FRF regular Laura Bartolozzi do a turn. Shaun
Ballesty can be seen in the middle of the action.
Two riders not pictured are Andrew Roirden and Tony
Caruana who escaped the peleton early in the race.
Andrew, with a huge engine towed Tony around lap after lap
slowly gaining on the peleton. In the end though it
was the sly old fox Tony Caruana who rolled Andrew in the
sprint and claimed victory. RBCC U15 Junior Luke
Davison took out the peleton sprint for third place. |

The Sydney boys
drive the peleton along whilst little Tom Patton hides in
the middle of the bunch. D Grade saw yet another
great sprint from one of our juniors (yes another trackie).
Little Tom Patton sprinting in his Under 15 restricted
gears and gaining a fine second place behind winner Adam
Shephard. |

Dave Briss took
out the E Grade event but second place getter Sandi
Jeffery continues to improve every week. You have
got trouble coming boys, let me tell you. Ross Fullerton
came in third. |
