REPORT

There was plenty of action in A grade with several attempted
breaks. Above new A grade wizz kid, Josh Marden attempts
a break but Anthony "The King" Spurgeon knows how good young
Josh is and there was no way he was letting young Josh out of
his sight. There was no way that Matty Lucas was going
to ride down the break with his team mate away but is seen
above looking to jump on the back of the rider about to
attempt to bridge.

In the final sprint however it was "The King of Heffron"
victorious once more. Spongee Jenkins pushed The King
right to the line whilst Josh was happy to cruise in for third
place.

The B grade pace saw riders dropping off lap after lap until
there were only 6 left in the front bunch. In C grade 2
riders, one of whom was Alex Simmons from the Sydney Club,
escaped from the peleton and spent most of the race working
hard only to be caught just prior to the bell lap. Alex and
the other C grade escape can be seen in the above photo just
left of the B grade lead group.

Richie Collins from the Manly Warringhah Club won the B grade
sprint farily convincingly although Randwick Botany's Karl
Bellamy pressed him right to the finish line for a well earned
second place. Arthur Driver is riding extremely well at
the moment and came in third. Kev Black was happy to
take the opportunity to have a drink and watch the sprint as
he cruised in for 4th place.
Sorry D & E grade, I went for a warm up ride to La Perouse and
missed your race. You will have to elect grade
correspondents from your ranks so that I amy be brought up to
speed on the race action. Good to see however, RBCC
taking out all 3 spots in D grade. congratulations also to
Pata Carman, obviously not put off by her grazed elbow
last week, with a fine third place in E grade. Joe Gatt
looked respendent in his new Randwick Botany jersey.
