THANK YOU:
Thanks to our
Commissaires Joanne Buckton & Helen Vella.
Thanks to
Fred Vella who deployed and retrieved all the safety
equipment. Thanks to our safety marshals, Michael & Thomas Murdoch
in the "Squircle" & Robert Mills in the Netball courts area.
Thanks to First Aid Officer, Jim from St
John.
REPORT
Well still no action photographs with Tony Horneman, our
resident action photographer, still off with his bad back.
You will have no doubt noticed that there are no results for
A, B & C grades. A crash in C grade on the final lap of
the race saw a few riders go down on the start/finish
straight. Our Commissaire's took the very responsible
position of calling a halt to the racing as B Grade was coming
around for their sprint lap and A grade shortly thereafter.
The Commissaires obviously did not want other grades sprinting
past the accident scene whilst our St John first aid officer
was rendering first aid to the injured riders.
Thankfully this is a rare occurrence at Heffron and most of
the injuries amounted to grazing and some torn cycle clothing.
Earlier in the afternoon, the D & E grade races were quite
exciting with new member Nicholas Wade taking 3rd place in his
first ever race. Whilst youngster ( but extremely
experienced), Adriano Maradini took second place in the E
grade race. It was an RBCC trifecta in both grades as
RBCC took all the places over both grades.
The juniors got quite a workout with 4 events conducted with
some of the older ones totaling 13 laps or 26 kilometres at
race pace.
Full results are detailed in the column to the left.
