REPORT

Racing was hard in the windy conditions and many of the grades broke into smaller groups as big attacks opened gaps which were then extremely hard to close.

Above Josh Marden, stretches the A grade bunch with one of several huge attacks that he did.  Stewart "Computer" Campbell stays close and eventual winner Matt Lucas has to close down a small gap to get on. Congratulations to Matty Lucas for an excellent ride away victory.  Matt said that a lot of thanks had to go to Josh who "softened them up" for him.

Meanwhile back in the chasing peleton.  Anthony "The King of Heffron" Spurgeon prays for someone to take him across.  Randwick Botany's Saxon Johns stays close to Spurge.

There was no "bunch finish" for the big guy, Roger Crawford, this week as he too was caught back in the chasing peleton.

B grade was much the same with 5 away and gaps appearing all the time in the chasing peleton.  Left Ross Mackay is sucking in the big ones as I try to close a small gap to his wheel.

The sprint was a 2 man show in the end. In a display of speed and power, Simon Vagg led out the B grade sprint and accelerated right to the line.  Hot on his tail was Nicholas Rathbone who just couldn't close the gap.

Elvis lives!  There were several reports of an Elvis sighting at Heffron Park but it turned out to be none other than RBCC's Tony Caruana.

It just would not be a C grade without Laura Bortolozzi (FRF) out the front driving the bunch.

In a great sprint, RBCC's Andrew Hall held off the fast finishing Tony "Viva Los Heffron" Caruana and Matthew McGoon from Dulwich Hill.

D grade action.  Eventual winner David Small whilst nearly totally obscured can just be seen in second wheel whilst Paul "Ginge" Baker is tucked in nicely further down the line.

Sorry E grade, Tony did not take any action shots of you.  As a matter of fact I am a little worried about Tony. As most of us know, Tony threw his back out.  Recently though, he had a bit of a "turn" and everything went blurry.  Now he took some very good shots of today's action  however I also found these on the camera !!
Yes at some point during racing, Tony looked to the skies. I don't know if he was seeking answers to those great unanswered questions or whether his back/neck just went into spasm.

Eventually Tony's gaze came back to earth but he was still not focussed on racing.  I have made my own psychoanalysis of these next two, however I will leave them to your own imagination and for you to form your own opinions.
