Morning Herald,
Well today was RBCC's annual
Christmas Pudding races and I must say that I have not seen anyone
ride so hard for a Christmas Pudding.

Josh Marden got away early but Brownie was not letting him go.
Dave Treacey joined the two but eventually found the going a bit
tough and rejoined the peleton. In the final stages of the
race Josh knew he had to try and shake Brownie who is one of the
best road sprinters on the planet and he took off on a solo break.
About 2 to go Shaun Higgerson blasted off the front of the peleton
and in an awesome display of power bridged over to Josh. On
the bell we thought it was all over with Higgo and Josh away but in
yet another display of awesome power, Brownie blasted off the front
of the peleton and managed to get across to the 2 break-aways.
We all thought Brownie has used all his reserves getting across the
gap but demonstrating what a true champion he is, the dual gold
medal Olympian, went head to head with Higgo to the line then with a
mighty throw launched the bike across the line almost half a bike
length on Higgo. It was one of the most unbelievable "Throws"
that many of us had ever witnessed. Congratulations Brownie
you really deserved that Christmas pudding. By the way we also
sent him home with a few bucks in his pocket as well (Yes the big
prizemoney is still on - not to mention the Christmas Pudding!!!).
Don't forget racing resumes for 2006 on 7th
January which incidentally the first Sat of the month and as such
will be a handicap race with $200 on offer for first place.
