REPORT

Is it my imagination or does Stewart "Computer" Campbell show up when RBCC A graders are away at opens?

In any event, it didn't take long for Stan Genakis of Sydney club and Computer to put some distance on the A grade peleton as they worked well together in the windy conditions to stay away from the chasers.

In the end though Computer was too strong for Stan who had to be happy with second place

Tony Iannicito must have felt a little out-numbered as he battled a swarm of Sydney riders to take the peleton sprint and third overall position in the A grade field.

Patrick O'Shea drives the B grade bunch as eventual winner Richard Westmoreland keeps an eye on the front of the bunch.  Great result in B grade for RBCC/FRF with 3 of the boys on the podium.

In C grade 3 riders got away and were able to hold off the chasing bunch. Here they are (left) sprinting for victory with Sydney rider Daniel Healy taking the win followed by Jason Douglas RBCC/FRF and junior rider Tayla Aitchison from Southern Cross Club.

Meanwhile, back at the C grade peleton, there were pained expressions and gnashing of teeth as the blue train tried to reel in the escapees.  Left Tim Bunnel leads Rocky Fortuna and Peter Heywood in the chase.

In D grade, a break formed and final placings were  fought out between members of this small group (pictured left).

E grade Action and little Adriano Maradini knows which wheel to be on as he tucks in almost totally obscured behind Barry Sheridan.  Eventual  second place getter Alec Lazich sits at the back but keeps a close eye on the front runners.  Tanya Bosche and Leeanne Emery are always there to keep the boys honest.

New member Zita Wakim didn't do too bad for what I think is her second race with a victory in F grade. Left she is pictured in a break with John Siounis.

Eventual third place getter, Dave Birss seemed to be doing it tough trying to match the pace set by Zita and John.

Frank Fortuna looked pretty hot as he warmed up before the A grade race.  Let's leave it at that.  Suffice to say that he and I  had a nice chat as we rolled around on the back of C grade.

A big thank you to Matthew Fortuna who took on the role of club photographer taking many of the above photos.  Thanks Matthew.
