REPORT

Well since the first Handicap race back in January of this year, A grade did not win this week.  C grade were able to stay away in the windy conditions.  The pace and the conditions served to turn half the field into spectators and riders were strewn about the circuit.  There was one group of C graders however that managed to not only stay together, but work well together.  It was this harmony of effort that eventually got them the victory.  First A grader home, Peter McDonald was not at all upset and told me that it was one of the best races that he had been in.  So that was very pleasing to hear and gracious of Pete.

JERSEY SPONSORS

Adam Le-Serve sprints home to the $200 first prise with Simon Steel just behind him.  Another lap would have seen them in a little bother with Peter McDonald who blasted off the front of the remaining A graders and was bearing down on them like an exocet missile.

Above Peter McDonald finishes first A grader home and not too far behind the bunch.

Peter McDonald drives for home.

Shot of Open A early in the race with RBCC's Matt Lucas and Nathan Rollason doing some work on the front.

B Grade was very much a family affair with Frank Fortuna, Anthony Fortuna and Paul Fortuna all racing in the same grade.

Here's Peter patting RBCC club mascot "Molly" before the race with team mate Robbie Cater looking on.

Leeann Emery takes out E Grade.

Adam Le-Serve drives the lead C grade bunch for home.

Sean O'Neil went off the front of the combined Club A/B grade and spent a lot of time driving off the front by himself.  It was a valiant effort but he never quite caught the C graders and was eventually swallowed up by the McDonald train.

New RBCC committee member and Director Sportif of the Elite team, Andy Portess looks relaxed on the line.

No that's not a moustache and goatee on Chris "BRUTUS" Reynold's face.  Rumour is that he recently came to a halt and used his face for brakes. Got a nice new helmet out of the deal.

The D grade finish and Anthony Moorehouse takes it out fairly easily.  Welcome to C grade Anthony.

PRIZE MONEY

Don't forget that thanks to the generous support of our sponsor FRF and in an effort to encourage more A graders to Saturday racing at  Heffron Park, the prize money has been SUBSTANTIALLY increased.  First in A grade is $150 and $200 for the handicap winner.
