This had to have been the coldest October day ever !!  I had a jacket, two sloppy joes underneath, as well as T shirt and was still cold.  Others like assistant Commissaire Dale Rockell was wrapped in blankets.

REPORT

The third Saturday in the month is reverse direction day and so it was, albeit a little shorter than the usual 25 laps for A grade.  Attendance was down with the freezing conditions and threatening rain.  So with the riders best interest at heart, I decided to cut the race down to the normal Saturday distance of 18 laps.  this had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that I was sitting out there in the freezing cold for best part of 3 hours

I was looking forward for a sprint showdown between Matty Lucas and Luke Davison but that was not to be.  Matt, probably still having not got over being outsprinted by young gun Richard Lang a couple of races ago, launched off the front about one and a half to go.  He looked pretty happy with himself as he crossed the line.	Argon 18 first and second.  Frank Fortuna was closing in on Chris White like an exocet missile but Whitey (Chris White) had judged it perfectly.  He went up the back straight and got a gap on the field then held it right to the line.  Anyone coming over to him was going to have to do it the hard way without a wheel to follow, as Frank found out.  The old dog has still got plenty of bark.

PRIZE MONEY

Handicap winner receiving $150.  A grade winner on normal day is $120 and we now have a first A club prize of $50.

START TIMES

Randwick Botany Cycling Club conducts racing at Heffron Park, Maroubra NSW each Saturday throughout the year. Juniors start at 12.30pm. Seniors D, E, & F grades will start at 2pm and A, B & C grades will start at 3pm.

RACING SHEDULE

A handicap race for A B & C grades will be conducted on the first Saturday of every month.  Second,  fourth & fifth Saturdays will be normal scratch races.  On the Third Saturday of every month racing will be longer and conducted in reverse direction.  A grade 25 laps (50 kilometres), B grade 23 laps and C grade 20 laps.  D, E & F will be normal distance
