REPORT

A drop of rain and the A, B & C grade riders played, "Lets see
if 80 guys can fit in the clubroom". Anyway we were
advised by Tony Caruana that it was only a passing shower and
sure enough 10 mins later it was gone.

Finally we had everyone on the line ready to race.
Club Stalwarts Dale Rockell and Tony Caruana on the line ready
to go. Dale showing off his brand new BH bike. |

This is indeed a rare shot. Luke Davison on the front
of the A Club peleton. The A grade race was super exciting
this week. There has been criticism of the A clubbies that
they have in the past sat up and rested and waited for the A
Opens (who have to do an extra lap). Not this week the A
Clubs set such a hot pace that they were consistantly lapping
sub 3 minute and eventually blew their own field apart with only
3 remaining. |
| |
|
 |
The A Open riders with UCI team members Josh Marden and
Robbie Cater driving. A open also blew apart and was down
to three. Robbie dropped shortly after this photo laying a
little blame at Ritchie Jenkins feet. Robbie said he was
shattered after doing some big turns and then hearing Ritchie
telling them that they were not making any ground on the A
clubbies. Eventually though as the A clubbies crumbled
down to three, the 3 remaining Open A's started reeling them in
at about 7 seconds a lap and Josh was only about 30 metres
behind as he went through to take the bell. |
| |
|
 |
Congratulations to Tony Iannicito who rode a fantastic last
lap and did not allow Josh to get back any of those 30 metres.
Josh can be seen just at the back of Tony's helmet. Adam Socha
was second and A Open rider Dave Evans was 4th. To say A
grade was blown apart would have been an understatement. I
reckon they all had a good workout today though. |

 |
B grade on the start line ready to go. |
| |
|
 |
B grade sprint and Mark Ardouin makes it look easy.
Mark was first in C grade last week. We put him up to B
grade and he takes that out fairly comfortably. Might be
time to have a run in A club, Mark. |
| |
|
 |
A fast pace in C grade had the peleton strung out in singles
file over 100 metres. |
| |
|
 |
D grade on the line ready to go and Matty Hynes looks rather
amused with club photographer, Rocky Fortuna. |
| |
|
 |
Left E grade action and Daniel Warmsley takes an E grade
break down the start/finish straight. Eventually winner
Robert Kapp sits in third wheel with eventuall 2nd place getter,
Leanne Emery in second wheel |
| |
|
 |
E Grade on the start line before the race. D, E & F
grades got to race on a dry track beating the afternoon shower.
