REPORT

The first race for 2008 saw 80 riders register for racing under the restructured grading system.  We have abandoned the concept of A Open and A club.  There are now 4 grades staggered about the track at 4pm, A, B C & D grades.

A grade action and Nathan "Rollo" Rollason drives the 8 strong grade.

Not happy with the pace, Rollo attacks on the pimple.

Richard Lang got across to Rollo and the two worked together to try and hold off the chasers.

Three chasers were relegated to the spectators bench whilst Dave Walton, Matthew Yaxley and Steve Walton worked hard to try and pull back Rollo and Richard Lang.

Matthew "Yax" Yaxley and Dave Walton worked well together and whilst Steven Walton could not hold on, Yax and Dave Walton eventually got across and contested the sprint.  Richard Lang was a clear winner with very little separating the three sprinting for second place.

B grade action as the peleton enters the Netball Court area.

Andrew Duggan broke away from B grade bunch and took victory by a country mile.

Meanwhile back at the peleton, Sean Bloch miles too fast for the rest of the bunch takes out the bunch sprint and in so doing takes second place to Andrew.

C Grade action and Bazza seemed to be always at the front or attacking but coincidentally only in the immediate area of the cameraman.

Brendan Ingram takes out the D grade sprint.

Greg Fisher takes out the E grade sprit.

F grade sprint and Sandie Mackey narrowly pips John Siounis to the line.

Frank Fortuna's new retro Colnago Extreme Power drew plenty of attention.

A racing casualty as Tony Caruana brings back a bird that he collided with during the race.  It was very thoughtful of you Tony, but Rocky doesn't look at anything under Turkey size.  Now if you had hit a cow !!!
