REPORT

After having endured my fair share of healthy debate on the issue, I finally yielded to the A Clubbies who were sick of doing an 18 lap time trial to hold off the chasing A Opens, and split A into 2 separate scratch races, A Open and A Club.  Despite the fact that Pete "The Machine" wasn't there, I then had to endure the cries of anquish as each in turn told me, "I am not an Open A Grade rider !!!"

Despite their having done no training, no miles on the bike, Matty Lucas got himself a third in A Open and Rollo haivng only just allighted from his sick bed after 2 week managed 4th.

The King looked pretty happy at the beginning of the race.  Perhaps that's because he knows that the deck isn't stacked against him at Randwick Botany races.

He looked pretty happy after the race as well having taken victory in the A open division. Congratulations to big Roger Crawford also who stepped up to the plate on his own and finished with the bunch in A Open.

Meanwhile back in the A Club division, they were all enjoying their "tactical" race except that our Hungarian import spoiled their social outing and launched off the front and stayed there for most of the race.  Unfortunately they were not able to enjoy their new founded leisurely cruise chatting together and had to chase Zollie down.

2 to go and Zollie looks around and realises that it is all over as a chasing A Club bunch reels him in.

If you let Frank Fortuna have a nice leisurely ride you pay the price in the end.  Very few people come over Frank if he is fresh in the sprint.  Better rethink "Tactics" boys.
