REPORT
Fabulous ride by the 2 remaining A
open riders, Luke Davison and Dave Early who started out
with 6 and by 75% of the way through the race were down
to 2. They worked well together and at a point
half way through the race young Luke sang out a nice
complement as he went past the Commissaire's position.
I only heard, "This is B*#*%.." but I am sure it
was something along the lines, "This is Bloody good
handicapping"
Anyway it was good handicapping as
the two A opens caught the A Club bunch and managed 1st
and 4th postions.
Bit of drama in the B grade race.
Mixed emotions for poor Jeremy "Jezza" Alchin.
Grabed 2econd place in the B grade sprint and then
somehow got a little mixed up with 3rd placegetter, Matt
Greenwood as they passed the finish line. Result
was Jessa got off balance and when trying to steer
sharply to regain balance, popped the front tyre and the
rest is history. Apart from some bark missing,
nothing was broken, bike was Ok and Jezza is in good
spirits.
Something different this week when we
let E grade off 2 mins 30 secs before D grade in a D/E
handicap. The D graders under the careful
direction of Leanne Emery swapped off turns like pros
and slowly got the E graders back coming together with 2
to go. After the race a couple of the D graders
told me how much they enjoyed it and how they learnt the
concept of swapping off turns and rolling over. It was
great to hear that we had enabled them to pick up some
new skills.
We were honoured in the Juniors to
have both the German National Champion and the World
Champion competing.
Well I don't know where Rebecca got
the Rainbow jersey but I do know that Katie's German
national jersey is a genuine. She got it off her aunty
Judith Arndt.
Here's a Flashback to 2003 when
Judith Arndt and Petra Rossner visited us at Heffron.
