REPORT

Brent Skippen got to
see the bullet like speed of young Luke Davison this week as
Luke blasted across a gap and took Brent on the line. The
quote of the week was heard shortly after that moment in the
vicinity of the Commissaries, "Little *#@* !!!!" I
don't think Brent expected that anyone could have bridged that
gap and was in fact throttling off a little as he approached the
line.
It got a little
hectic out there this week with A Club enjoying their "Tactical
Race." For those who don't know we split the A grade into
2 separate scratch races because the A Clubs complained that
they were doing an 18 lap time trial flat out. We gave
them their own race so that they could ride, as they described
it, "A tactical race". Well this weeks tactics seemed to
be go so slow that B grade catches you and A Open laps you.
These two events did inspire them to actually start turning the
pedals but it didn't do much for us in the Commissaire's box as
B grade passed A Club and then the two grades see-sawed back and
forth across each other over a couple of laps. Finally A
Club picked up the pace and moved away from B grade however A
Open came around and lapped them but even though they have
fought for their own race for weeks, they must have secretly
longed to race with the A Opens again because that's exactly
what they did. With only 2 laps to go we decided to give A
club the bell at the correct time and bell A Open the lap after.
The Commissaire's job became interesting screaming on the PA,
bell for A Club, A Open 2 to go. The good news was that
they all understood it and the A Opens backed off a bit and let
the A club's go for their sprint lap. As a result A Open in fact
raced 20 laps this week.

B Grade sprint was
close as well with Crispin Arnell and big Nick Wainman battling
it out right to the finish line.

The E grade sprint
and young Ben Grant takes the honours. |
