REPORT
First Saturday of the month means
handicap and the excitement went right down to the bell
lap. There were 4 grades on the track with A Open having
to do 17 laps. The A Opens aided by "The Machine"
set about chasing back the A Clubs and had caught them
with 8 to go. The combined A group then set about
chasing B & C grades. B grade caught C grade with
4 to go and the combined group tried to hold off the
hard charging a graders. Timed down to the wire, A grade
caught B & C on the bell lap and Kris Koke who had a
fabulous race attacked off the front and went clear.
Just as we thought he had it in the bag, Pete "The
Machine" McDonald chased down Kris and went straight
past him to take victory by some 100 metres of so.

B Grade went out of the blocks and were screaming along.
Big Bazza and I were working like trojans.

Unfortunately we were both "OTA" on lap one. I didn't
feel too bad because last week's B grade winner,
Paul Kraszewski Bicisport was
"OTA" with us. All 3 of us had made the fatal
mistake of not warming up prior to racing. Well
it's especially hard for me given that I Commissaire the
previous race then do the presentations and only just
have time to get my bike to the line.
