Time Trial

Great results by RBCC Golden Couple (well bronze & silver anyway)4-10-16-sue-jacko

This year the Riverina town of Griffith was host to the Nationals and over 350 cyclists from all across Australia made the journey to Griffith.  Unfortunately in the lead up to the event the area has had a lot of rain causing widespread flooding around a lot of the region.  Things were looking ominous as for those of us driving from Sydney we encountered very heavy rain all the way to Griffith on Friday with water across the road in lots of places.  However we all made it and went to bed Friday night praying the rain would stop for the road race the next morning.  Alas the weather gods were looking after us and we awoke to a lovely, albeit fresh, morning.  The wind was up a little but at least it wasn’t raining!!!  (more…)

RBCC Club Champs Round 4 – Razorback Hillclimb TT Sun 4th August

Razorback Hill Climb Time Trial

Part of the route for the Goulburn-Sydney Cycle Classic

The course consists of a 3.8 km climb of the northern face of the mountain on Old Razorback Road which is the final climb of the Goulburn-Sydney Cycle Classic.

The time trial will start from the intersection of Cawdor Rd and Old Razorback Rd and conclude where Old Razorback Rd joins Mt Hercules Rd (See UBD map 363 map ref C8). The road increases in elevation by 220 metres over the length of the course at an average gradient of 5.8%. However the final kilometre averages 10% with a maximum of 16% and this is where the race will be decided.

Course Record: 9 Mins 27 secs. Craig Gordon, 2005.

See map below or go to Macarthur Cycling website

No entry fee for RBCC riders – however if you do want to enter the Tour of August and have your result count towards the Tour then a $15 entry fee for the Tour only is payable on the day. If you are just competing in the RBCC Club champs – no fee is payable.

Randwick riders will start from 0840 and please be there for sign on from 0730. I believe there will be a coffee van for a legal drug fix.

Will see all the hard men and women there – Cheers Anna M (racing coordinator)
