| Prior to attending Heffron Park,
Robbie had a very hectic series of engagements including breakfast at
Centennial Park with Gary Sutton and members of NSWIS, including Kate
Nichols. I felt sorry for Robbie as He was about to tuck into the first
bite of breakfast only to have to put down his fork and be interviewed
via mobile phone by Alan Jones. Katie Nichols was also interviewed
by Alan Jones during breakfast. Next stop was the
ANZAC War Memorial, Hyde Park, then
Pool of Remembrance, Archibald Memorial Fountain. |

Then Robbie delivered a letter to the
State member for Maroubra, Mr Michael Daley (left). Contents of
the letter as follows:
Dear Mr Daley,
On behalf of the Executive and members of the
Randwick Botany Cycling Club, I would like to congratulate you on
your election to the seat of Maroubra.
In 2005 the Randwick Botany Cycling Club, based
within your electorate, was the biggest affiliated cycling club in
New South Wales.
Please accept this letter of congratulations from
our courier, Robbie McEwen. We have used the most elite courier we
could find in Australia to deliver your congratulatory letter to
you. Robbie is Australia’s most successful Tour de France rider and
winner of the coveted Green Jersey. He was Cyclist of the year in
2005 and recipient of the prestigious Sir Hubert Opperman award for

Once again, congratulations.
Regards

Robbie cemented his visit quite literally. Robbie commemorated
his visit to us by placing his hands in wet cement and signing
underneath.

Something once again that you are not likely to see in the near
future. Robbie McEwen doing a "Wheelie" down the Robbie McEwen
straight. If you have broadband and don't mind a little wait, you can
see a video of Robbie here.
