FRF MAJOR SPONSOR OF RBCC IN 2005

Randwick Botany Cycling Club announces new major sponsor for 2005.  We are proud to announce that RBCC have entered into an sponsorship arrangement with FRF Couriers.

The new sponsorship will mean many fantastic things for the Randwick Botany Cycling Club, not the least of which will be a new uniform. (Click here to see new uniform)

Everyone would be very aware of the current FRF trade racing team, some RBCC members like Chris Jenkins, Robert Cater and Shaun Higgerson are already members. Our sponsorship arrangement will mean that in 2005 Randwick Botany Cycling Club will not only be able to put more funding into our Junior Developement program but will be able to take riders from Junior Development right through to a top A grade sponsored team with all the benefits of being in a top A grade team such as equipment and other support (subject to sponsorship guidelines and selection criteria).

So who are FRF?  FRF is the parent company of bicycle import and distribution company, ExcelPro.  ExcelPro is the importer and distributor of Colnago bicycles, Argon 18 bicycles, Parentini clothing, 3T bicycle accessories and  Speedplay  pedals.  This might explain to you why the current FRF team members are all riding Argon 18 bicycles.

We are all very proud of club member, Peter MacDonald who won the recent  Grafton to Inverell Classic.  Similarly next year, RBCC/FRF will be in a position to compete against other top trade teams in major events.  Unlike other trade teams however, our riders in most cases, will be competing in  the same jersey that you and I, and indeed that every Randwick Botany Cycling Club member wears, the Randwick Botany/FRF jersey.

So what are the benefits of the new sponsorship agreement with FRF:

1.      Significant financial sponsorship of the club in general.
2.      New Club uniform with a more modern and professional flavour.
3.      Major sponsorship of Elite riders (subject to sponsorship guidelines and selection criteria) who have the opportunity of gaining a place in the A grade Elite team and enjoying the same level of support current FRF trade riders enjoy such as equipment and other support.
4.      RBCC will now be able to supply a development stream for riders from Juniors of 5 or 6 years old right through to A graders competing in our Elite team at the major "Classic" races.
5.      Randwick Botany Cycling Club will have more funds to assist with our Junior Development program, purchase assets and to assist the general members of the club.

So what is expected of Randwick Botany members:
1.      Train hard and perhaps one day you may be in a position to be selected in the Elite team and contest the Classics.
2.      Wear your FRF sponsored Randwick Botany uniform proudly whether you are training or racing and in doing so support your club and your sponsor.
3.      Be a racing member or be a social member.  The choice is yours.  You can enjoy your club in any way you choose.  Whilst we would encourage members to race, there are plenty of other things to do (become an official, volunteer, etc).  Take Helen Vella and my wife Joanne for example both are accredited NSW Commissaires.  Neither have any intention of racing (I don't think) or even riding for that matter, but both enjoy their club immensely and assist in the sports administation side of cycling.  Everyone can enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the comradery at Randwick Botany.  You choose whether you want to represent your club at race meetings, enjoy your club championship competition, enjoy the training rides, enjoy the training camps, enjoy the social occasions or any or all of the above.
4.      Enjoy being a member of the Randwick Botany Cycling Club and spread the word about our great club.
